Squamish is home to a population of 17,500 highly active and determined people. Between 2006 and 2011 Squamish saw a population increase of about 15% and the number continues to grow.
Squamish is host to many annual events, such as, Squamish Days, Squamish Music Festival, BC Bike Race, Squamish Wind Festival, the Test of Metal, Brackendale Fall Fair, Squamish Beer festival, GranFondo cycling event, and much more.
Squamish boasts a very diverse arts and culture scene, and now home to many photographers, artists, theater, dance and musicians. A range of education options are available in Squamish including the Quest University, Capilano University Squamish Campus. Along with a very strong public and private school system in place including six elementary schools, a French immersion program, junior high school and a high school.
